Highways Technical Services, within Streetscene Services, are seeking an Administration Officer to supervise and manage the Administration Assistants supporting the specific teams below:
Traffic and Parking
The Traffic and Parking Team investigate and respond to enquiries regarding speeding, traffic calming, pedestrian crossings and weight limits. The team also implement Traffic Regulation Orders for waiting restrictions and Controlled Parking Zones and are responsible for the maintenance of the Council's car parks. We also have a dedicated team who enforce parking contraventions across the East Riding.
Street Lighting
Responsible for the installation and maintenance of street lighting, lit signs, traffic signals and CCTV across the East Riding.
Streetworks & Winter Services
Streetworks - Ensuring that utility companies and members of the public adhere to the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA) when undertaking works on the highway.
Winter Services – Provide treatment of the roads, footways and cycleways in the East Riding during the winter period; enabling a safe passage for vehicles and pedestrians, minimising delays due to winter weather and ensuring operations are undertaken safely.
You will be responsible for the dedicated administrative processes and duties that you and your team undertake, including monitoring, verification and processing information. You will also work closely with Streetscene Operational Managers assisting with initiatives and projects and providing reports and statistical information.
You will be required to work to deadlines and prioritise your own workloads, using your initiative. The role involves daily communication with customers (internal and external); therefore good written and oral communication skills are essential, along with the ability to manage your team effectively.
