About the role
We are excited to be able to offer a brand new role within Culture and Customer Services.
The role of Destination Group Manager will be specifically responsible for strategic management and leadership of Sewerby Hall and Gardens, Bridlington Spa, South Cliff Holiday Park, Bridlington Park and Ride, Countryside Access, Coastal Services, Retail, Catering, Events and Conferences, business development and liaison with marketing teams supporting the whole of Culture and Customer Services.
Your role will be to add to the visitor experience, by developing and maximising the potential of our range of popular attractions and facilities in the area. You will also look after the catering function across all our venues and support the whole of the service in maximising commercial opportunities.
This is a new and pivotal role in destination management, working for a council which is still able to prioritise investment in culture and tourism and wants to enhance and build upon the reputation of the East Riding as a first choice tourist destination.
About You
We are seeking an individual with extensive senior management and leadership experience and in particular experience of strategic planning of services and working towards defined objectives. Managing budgets, major projects and partnership working is extremely important as is an understanding of the relevant service areas.
The successful candidate should possess strong leadership, influencing, negotiation, mediation and advocacy skills and must be a skilled and persuasive communicator and collaborative working and effective networking is essential.
