An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Sustainable Development Team to lead on the development and delivery of environmental management and climate change policy.
As Senior Sustainable Development Officer (Environment) you will be expected to work with corporate and external partners, communities and businesses to address key environmental, resource management and climate change issues within the East Riding.
We are looking for someone who has the ability to develop, promote and deliver relevant training and awareness raising initiatives to a range of audiences, to foster a greater understanding of environmental sustainability and climate change issues. You should have good policy development and interpersonal skills and an ability to deal with difficult/problematic issues in an appropriate and diplomatic manner.
You should be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant subject and have a sound understanding of issues relating to climate change and the sustainable usage of resources, including low carbon technologies, sustainable energy consumption issues and sustainable procurement.
Based at County Hall, Beverley, with a requirement to travel to meetings inside and outside the county on occasions, this post is a permanent post for 37 hours a week.
