The Sustainable Development team are looking for a knowledgeable and passionate individual to lead on the development of policies and guidance to protect and enhance the East Riding’s unique natural environment.
As Senior Sustainable Development Officer (Biodiversity) you will be expected to develop and deliver corporate policy and guidance to ensure that the council remains compliant with emerging environmental legislation. You will also work with communities, businesses and corporate and external partners to address key opportunities and threats related to the natural environment and biodiversity of the East Riding, including natural capital and invasive non-native species.
You should be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant subject and have a thorough understanding of legislation, guidance and best practice associated with biodiversity and the natural environment.
Based at County Hall, Beverley, with a requirement to travel to locations inside and outside of the county on occasions, this post is a permanent post for 18.5 hours a week. You will be expected to work closely with the other half of the Senior Sustainable Development Officer (Biodiversity) post.
