We are looking to recruit a Licensing Officer from January 2018 to join our busy and high profile Licensing Team, working daily with Committees, local business and partners to deliver licensing activities which encourage and support safer communities and safeguarding of the public.
It provides an ideal opportunity to learn about, and become involved in, the day to day delivery of the licensing service. You will report to the Senior Licensing Officer and you will be involved in dealing with all types of applications and service requests including taxis, alcohol, entertainment, late night refreshment, gambling, as well as the licensing of animal welfare activity such as kennels, pet shops and Zoo's.
The Team is located in Beverley but you will cover the whole area of the East Riding of Yorkshire and a motor vehicle is required to carry out your duties and inspection visits.
You should have a good level of education and should also have experience of working in a front line, regulatory or customer advice service. Good IT skills are essential as well as having a strong customer focus. Knowledge of licensing functions and licensing legislation is desirable as well as experience of working with or advising business or residents. You will be an effective team worker with good communication and listening skills as well as patience, tact and understanding when dealing with our customers.
You will need to be able to work on your own initiative, undertake projects and have a willingness to occasionally work out of normal hours to undertake investigations.

This post is offered on either a fixed term basis or by secondment from your substantive post until February 2019 to cover maternity leave.
