We are looking for up to four dedicated, organised and committed staff members to join the Children's Commissioning and Quality Monitoring Team in the role of Education, Health and Care (EHC) commissioning officer.
You will join a busy, fast paced team to facilitate person-centred planning meetings for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) across the 0-25 year old age range, ensuring children, young people and their families are at the centre of assessment and planning processes by facilitating the co-production of Education, Health and Care Assessments and Plans with and for children/young people with SEND.
You will also be required to commission relevant services/provision to ensure effective and timely delivery of the EHC process and EHC plans and work with relevant professionals in education, health and social care and other relevant disciplines to ensure their knowledge, experience, skills and relevant assessments inform the EHC Plans.
You will have a degree or equivalent, preferably in a related field, have experience of working with, and commissioning services (based on needs identified in EHC plans) for children, young people with special educational needs and/or disability and their families. You will have experience of working with families in relation to difficult/sensitive issues.
As part of the interview you will be asked to prepare and deliver a 10 minute presentation on the following: How would you go about undertaking the Education Health and Care Plan commissioning process in line with the Principles of the SEND reforms.
