An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated individual to join our Traffic and Parking team as a traffic engineer. You will primarily support the senior engineer by delivering allocated schemes and projects in accordance with the team's programme of work for traffic management and parking measures. You will investigate, design options and deliver schemes from a range of individual post related traffic management and / or parking measures including accident / collision investigation and management, Traffic Regulation Orders, speed limits including reviews, traffic calming measures, traffic analysis and solutions, HGV weight limits, parking solutions, Controlled Parking Zones, car parks and their maintenance.
You will investigate, act upon and respond by providing advice and potential solutions, both verbally and in correspondence, to queries / issues raised by elected Members, town and parish councils, other agencies and members of the public, and attend meetings when required. You will also assist in the preparation and delivery of major schemes and projects, monitor progress of specific works / projects and provide feedback information to assist programming, workload and financial management. You will produce and provide technical reports and presentations as appropriate and support the management team in delivery of all aspects of the Service Plan.
You will be working towards a HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification and be competent in civil/traffic engineering or post related profession. You will have a working knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and traffic related issues including parking, moving traffic and environmental issues. You will be competent in IT and report writing and possess very good communication and inter-personal skills and the ability to express complicated issues fluently.
The post is office based in Beverley and applicants must have a full driving licence and their own transport to travel to and from sites for which mileage will be paid.
